Ma Vie is a fragrance that one wears to charm, or to reconquer, and may also be one of those that one will keep for life. “I imagined Ma Vie as a perfume of seduction towards which one would always want to return, as caught in its own trap. For this reason, I chose to create a chypre, as attractive to others as it is addictive to oneself. A touch of rum, as intoxicating and exhilarating as must have been Gala's eyes, and the rose from Turkey absolute, fiery and passionately united to the lily. And because their love was not ordinary, I added an unexpected touch of Hazelnut Jungle Essence™ that shakes up the patchouli leaves and reinforces the addiction. A fragrance with an elegant, mysterious, and wonderfully seductive trail.”

The first traces of rum are found during the Antiquity. It is believed that the development of drinks derived from fermented sugar cane comes from ancient China. Also, in a 14th-century account, Marco Polo mentions a "very good wine of sugar" that was offered to him in what would be Iran now. But modern rum was first distilled in the Caribbean in the 17th century. Tradition suggests rum, aka “kill-devil”, first originated on the island of Barbados. However, records of rum production are found in the 1620s in Brazil.
The Triptych symbol captures the communion of spirit, body, and soul between Dalí and Gala, a union bound by life and for life, encapsulating the paradox of a devoted muse entwined with a woman who irresistibly seduces.
